I was one of two artists, the other being 馮允珊 | Bettina Fung, selected to take part in the 2019 edition of 原承伯 | Howl Yuan’s UK-Taiwan artist exchange programme Artists Home Swap, where I stayed at 酸屋 | Acid House in Taipei for a month-long art residency.
During this time, I brought my acclaimed (T)werkshops back home to Asia at 小劇場學校 | Little Theatre School in Taipei working with local queer artists, which culminated in a showcase at 酸屋 | Acid House, which also featured a special guest performance from Foxxxy Gray, one of my (T)werkshoppers from Manila. Both Bettina and I then lead separate workshops, performed, and took part in a panel discussion at 駁二藝術特區 | Pier-2 Art Center for students from 國立中山大學 | National Sun Yat-sen University on the other side of the country in Kaohsiung. And having also become connected with members of Taipei’s queer performance community, I proudly attended Taipei Pride 2019, the first since Taiwan became the first Asian country to legalise same-sex marriage earlier that year.
