Carers' Common Room.

Carers’ Common Room

In 2022, I helped launch Carers’ Common Room, leading communications before becoming the General Manager of the space until its closure in 2024.

Founded and ran by Fauve Alice and supported by Paul Hamlyn Foundation, Necessity, and The Social Change Agency, CCR was a venue in the heart of Brixton for domiciliary care workers to come and rest and recharge between shifts, prepare drinks and snacks, use the internet, meet other carers, and attend a variety of events. There was, and still is, no other place like this in the UK; a space to build community, resource-sharing and solidarity between care workers who are often from precarious backgrounds.
